Environmental Statement

At Made In Oak we care where our timber comes from and we aim to source it within a 20 mile radius of our workshop in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.  We personally select the timber and only use  timber from carefully managed sources.  Most comes from Forestry Commission woodlands.

After milling the Oak, nothing is wasted.  Our workshop is heated with a wood-burning stove so the wood with the bark on it (slab wood) is used as firewood.  Essential for warmth and the all important kettle!  The sawdust is used for a compost toilet and the wood shavings are composted and used in local gardens as a mulch or compost additive.
